The removal of 3 existing walls enabled the stairway, dining, and removal of a small existing bedroom to create an, open vibrant kitchen space.
The sense of entry is clearly defined with the concrete stair, retaining wall, and accent lighting centered on the portico.
Repainting the fireplace and replacing the windows (white interior and black exterior) give the home a clean touch.
Carrying a matching backsplash all the way to the upper cabinets creates continuity to the countertop while providing an easy maintenance solution. It also looks awesome.
Removing the existing wall and replacing it with an open railing enables the loftiness of the stairway to be shared with the spaciousness of the kitchen and office area.
The use of French doors out to the back deck make using the outdoor space easy while providing ample natural light.
Converting the existing attic roof framing to exposed structure creates the feeling of openness, promotes light, and creates interesting texture and shadow lines.
The placement of skylights enables extra head-height to enable a bathroom to fit in those existing awkward sloped ceilings that become tasteful and celebrated.
By finishing a previously unfinished basement, the house gained extra bedrooms and living space.
