This Kirkland remodel was the result of planning 4 projects. The first 3 projects started across the street. The homeowners found a starter home in their dream neighborhood, and they went for it. They quickly hired me to come up with ideas to renovate the outdated home into a place where they would be proud to raise a family.
We started the design process with the dream-solution that included all their wishes in a home. We developed the plans far enough to involve a builder to solicit construction estimates. Next, we used the estimates as a tool to decide which design features provided the best value. The outcome led to a revised design solution which we further analysed and solicited revised estimates. Again, we analysed the estimates and revised the plans to produce a final solution that made most sense given the existing conditions of the old house.
Before construction began, a beautiful house across the street went up for sale, and my clients bought it - and the process started over again! With a lot of planning, we determined the best value and nicest outcome could be achieved by purchasing and remodeling the other house using the accumulated capital the original real estate had gained. The best part is the original home still followed the plans we created, and we also incorporated many of the desired craftsman details into the new home.
The end product resulted in a very warm, livable, customized home that responds to the needs of the family's lifestyle. Playing off the original craftsman details, we simplified the approach in both the old and the new areas to provide a more timeless home.
